The Immigration Office

Well, i have definitly found something that i dont like about this city and that is the horrid immigration office. It opens at 8, and when i arrived to register as a student, the line was over a city block long and wrapped around the back of the building. Needless to say, I was there for 2 hours before my number was called (the whole scene kept reminding me of that scene in Beetlejuice, where he tries to take the number of the dead guy next to him. Of course when i get to the counter I get the meanest women in the world. She had been yelling very loudly at people while i had been waiting there, so i knew she was horrible. So, I give her all my documents and she asks for a letter from Trinity (which i had 2 of already). She wanted another one. So, I have to go back on monday and do this whole process all over again. On a positive note-I did find the laundry facilities at Trinity (the machine in my apartment in broke at the moment). The washers are exactly the same as the ones at Bham Southern, except for i actually had to pay to use these. This day can only get better because the new season of the West Wing starts tonight, so I have something to look forward to for the time being.

hey jarvis,
glad to see you are doing well - as for food - we had to cook a lot or we would have spent all our money on going out to eat. in marks and spencer on the international food aisle is "american food". there is also a good sandwich place near the post office called Tutti's. the food at trinity sucked!!!! good luck with school! - emily
