Paris in January

Well, our mini-holiday to Paris was absolutely wonderful. We were in a great location just a few minutes walk to the Tuileries gardens, shown here in the picture. The building in the background is the Musee d'Orsay which we definitly visited to see the works of Monet, Dega, Renior, and Van Gogh housed there. I have soo many good pictures, so i will post a few more tomorrow. The gardens lead right to the Louve which is where we spent all day on saturday. Knowing that they had just shot the new Da Vinci Code movie there was kinda neat too. The picture of us is at Sacre Cour right outside the church. Being on that hill was the coldest we had been thus far, luckily the weather really wasn't too cold during our stay. By far the best part of the trip was the food AND the fact that dogs are allowed in most restaurants. The first night there this huge black lab walked right by our table and laid down in front of the door. That's something you dont see everyday. The health department in the states would go crazy. The downside to the parisians liberal attitude toward dining is that they also allow smoking almost anywhere, which was not so great on the sinuses. Other than the slight trouble we had getting back to Dublin (the small issue of missing our flight) the trip was perfect. I can not wait to go back!

Glad you are having fun. You missed a fun morning in Birmingham. Yesterday it rained all day so this morning there was black ice everywhere and over 30 wrecks by 8:30 this morning. They had to shut down parts of 20/59, 65, & 459! I knew you would miss that about Bham so i just shared it with you. Miss you so much.
