Lunch at Riona's

Sunday afternoon I joined several of the other scholars (mitchyo, david & Miriam, David woods) at Riona's mom and stepdad's house in Skerries, which is a cute little coastal town outside of Dublin. She had many more friends there including one from Israel who gave an amazing speech about his non-profit which works to unite Arab and Jewish children in Israel. wow. Well, the meal was great, we had an Irish favorite, soda bread and salmon with lemon for our apps, then we had a make your own stone baked pizza thing for lunch/dinner. Alan Foy who is a friend of ours in the Dublin Central Club brought some Indian food including my new favorite onion bahji.mmmmm. After a long filling lunch we took a walk to the coast which was nice and scenic yet bitterly cold. When we got back we devoured Miriam's homemade chocolate cake along with some homemade cheesecake. The best of all was the Irish coffee Riona and her mom made to go along with dessert. It is such a wonderful treat, especially when it is so cold outside. I absolutely love eating sunday lunch here because it always lasts a long time. This one went from 3-8pm, whereas at my house at home, everyone devours their food in like 10 minutes. We should take some lessons from the Irish....
